Simian Mobile Disco are an English production and remix combo. Formed from the ashes of the self-proclaimed electronically enhanced psychedelic folk band Simian ("Never Be Alone (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBVlEjibJQY)") in 2005, they are comprised of members James Ellis Ford and James Anthony Shaw.
The past few years have seen them knock out huge slabs of electro/indie crossover gear like the awesome "The Hustler" and "The Count" on Kitsuné and "Tits & Acid" alongside their highly acclaimed, fresh-sounding remixes for the likes of Peaches, Go! Team, Klaxons and Air. All the while they have been rinsing out raucuous DJ sets at some of the world's finest clubs such as Fabric and Turnmills.
SMD's debut album will be released on June 4th 2007 on Wichita Recordings. Among the tracks set to be included on it are "Hustler", "Tits and Acid", "I Believe", "Hot Dog" and lead single "It's the Beat", which features Ninja from UK indie band The Go! Team on vocals. There are rumours of a further collaboration with Arctic Monkeys whose sophomore album James Ford produced in late 2006.
