It's extraordinary how we go through life with eyes half shut, with dull ears, with dormant thoughts. Perhaps it's just as well; and it may be that it is this very dullness that makes life to the incalculable majority so supportable and so welcome. Nevertheless, there can be but few of us who had never known one of these rare moments of awakening when we see, hear, understand ever so much everything in a flash before we fall back again into our agreeable somnolence.

Heb er van genoten. Protagonist kon me wel bekoren. Schrijfstijl was vlot.

"The Lost Library of Cormanthyr"
Is it just a myth? Or does it still stand . . . somewhere in the most ancient corners of Faerun?
An intrepid human explorer sets out to find the truth and what starts as an archaeological expedition soon becomes a race against time as an undying avenger is determined to protect the secrets of the ancient, xenophobic elven empire of Cormanthyr.
Lost Empires is a bold new series that uncovers the secrets of the lost, ancient Forgotten Realms world.
Ah good old Forgotten Realms.

Faces Of Deception (Forgotten Realms: Lost Empires #2) by Troy Denning

Quote:
Hidden from his powerful family's enemies behind the hideous mask of his own face. Sent by the goddess of beauty on an impossibe mission. Driven to find a way past his own flesh, into a soul torn between destiny and love.
Meh, matig tot slecht.

Star of Cursrah (Forgotten Realms: Lost Empires #3) by Clayton Emery

Quote:
Lurking in the ruins is a horrific tale of greed, power, and revenge.
The Protector crawls forth, the shade of a dead city whose rulers refuse to die, and young companions in two distant epochs learn of a dreadful destiny they cannot escape . . .
. . . and a deadly threat to all they hold dear.
The Lost Empires series uncovers the secrets of the ancient civilizations of the Forgotten Realms world.
Aanrader. Niet echt kennis van Forgotten Realms nodig.

The Nether Scroll (Forgotten Realms: Lost Empires #4) by Lynn Abbey

Quote:
Ansoain has been murdered, and her son Galimer taken hostage.
Druhallen, a young magic user, must avenge the murder of his teacher and rescue her son from a dubious fate. But not everyone is telling Druhallen the truth.
Druhallen and his companions must brave the ruins of Dekanter to find a missing artifact . . . the Nether Scroll.
Without the Nether Scroll Galimer may die
Matig.

Star of Cursrah is veruit het beste in deze Lost Empires reeks.
